These terms apply to pressure washing, soft washing, gutter and roof cleaning, exterior restoration and related services supplied by Anglesey Cleaning Specialist. A written quotation may contain additional project-specific terms. If there is a conflict, the written quotation will take priority for that project, except where the law does not allow a term to be changed.
Nothing in these terms limits a consumer’s statutory rights or our obligation to perform services with reasonable care and skill.
1. Quotations, bookings and deposits
Quotations are normally valid for 30 days unless a different period is shown on the quotation. A booking is confirmed when we accept it and any required deposit has cleared.
For quotations totalling £500 or more, a 30% advance deposit is required to secure the booking date and begin scheduling and preparation. The deposit is deducted from the final invoice.
Customer cancellation or rearrangement
- More than 48 hours before the agreed start: we may retain from the deposit only the reasonable costs and losses caused by the cancellation, including administration, committed preparation and work we could not reasonably replace. Any remaining balance will be refunded. At our discretion, the deposit may instead be transferred once to a new date within three months.
- Within 48 hours of the agreed start: the deposit may be retained against reasonable losses including allocated labour, preparation and lost work, but will not exceed our actual reasonable loss.
- If we cancel for reasons within our control and cannot offer a suitable alternative date, the deposit will be refunded within seven days.
Consumer cooling-off rights
Domestic customers who enter into a contract online, by telephone or away from our business premises may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to begin during that period, you may be required to pay for work reasonably completed before cancellation. Your quotation or booking confirmation will explain any applicable right to cancel.
2. Payment
Unless different terms have been agreed in writing, payment is due by bank transfer within 24 hours of completion. Account details will be shown on the invoice.
For large or multi-day projects, reasonable stage payments may be required. These will be set out in the quotation before work begins.
For business customers, we may claim statutory interest and permitted debt-recovery costs on overdue qualifying invoices under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. For domestic customers, any recovery costs will be reasonable, proportionate and limited to costs actually incurred where the law permits.
If part of an invoice is disputed in good faith, the undisputed amount remains payable by the due date while we investigate the disputed amount.
3. Water, electricity and utilities
The quotation will state the utilities required for the job. Unless otherwise agreed, the customer must provide continuous access to a functioning outdoor clean-water supply at no cost to us.
If an agreed supply is unavailable or interrupted and prevents work, we may charge reasonable waiting time, an aborted-visit charge or the additional cost of returning, provided the charge reflects the loss incurred.
Our equipment is mainly petrol-driven or generator-powered. A standard domestic electricity supply may occasionally be required and will be discussed where relevant. For commercial sites without suitable power, temporary generation and its cost will be itemised and agreed in the quotation.
Caravan & lodge cleaning — additional terms
Holiday-park permission
The owner is responsible for obtaining permission from the park owner, warden or management before booking. We cannot track permissions on the customer’s behalf. If missing permission prevents the scheduled work, we may charge up to 50% of the booked price, limited to the reasonable loss and costs caused.
Parking and working space
Suitable parking must be available for our van, with enough room to unload and operate equipment safely. There must also be sufficient clear space around the caravan or lodge to clean the agreed sides. Furniture, bicycles, barbecues, storage boxes, awnings and overgrown branches must be moved or secured before arrival.
Arrival, completion and inspection
Booking times are arrival windows rather than exact times because weather, traffic and earlier work can affect the schedule. We will notify the customer of a significant delay.
Where the customer is not present, we will provide photographs of the completed work. Payment remains due within 24 hours of completion or receipt of those photographs. The customer has 14 days to inspect the caravan or lodge and report a genuine workmanship concern. Where reasonable, we will arrange a return visit at a mutually convenient time. New bird droppings, cobwebs, weather debris or contamination occurring after completion are not workmanship defects.
Safety, condition and price
Professional products suitable for caravan exteriors will be used, with gentler methods selected for delicate surfaces. Pets and children must remain away from the working area. Some oxidation, staining or ageing may remain after cleaning.
We may refuse or stop work where the caravan, lodge or site is unsafe, required access is unavailable, or threatening or abusive behaviour occurs. A reasonable call-out charge may apply where the cause was within the customer’s control.
Prices are based on the condition and services described when quoted. Heavy soiling, a substantial difference from supplied photographs, long gaps between cleans or additional requested work may change the price, but any change will be explained and agreed before the additional work proceeds.
4. Access, preparation and belongings
Customers must provide safe and timely access and, unless agreed otherwise, remove vehicles, furniture, planters, fragile items and pets from the work area. Windows, doors and vents must be securely closed. Commercial customers must arrange required inductions, permits and site contacts.
The customer should notify neighbours and arrange protection or movement of items near shared boundaries where overspray, water or debris could reach them. We will take reasonable care when working near neighbouring property.
If we agree to help move an item, the customer must identify anything fragile, unusually valuable or difficult to move. We are not responsible for loss caused by an item’s inherent fragility, undisclosed defect or the customer’s failure to prepare the area. This does not exclude responsibility for damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
Access delays
Where we are delayed by restricted access or uncleared areas and no relocation arrangement was agreed, waiting time may be charged at £50 per hour per staff member for residential work and £100 per hour per staff member for commercial work. We will take reasonable steps to minimise avoidable cost.
5. Existing damage and surface condition
Exterior cleaning and restoration are undertaken on the understanding that surfaces are reasonably sound and suitable for the agreed method. Customers must disclose known defects, fragile materials, vulnerable wiring, damaged seals, leaks and other sensitive areas before work begins.
Cleaning may expose or worsen hidden or existing defects such as loose mortar, cracked tiles, degraded flashing, defective render, rotten timber, unsealed gaps, failing joints or unstable coatings. We are not responsible for damage arising solely from a pre-existing defect that could not reasonably have been identified during our assessment.
Roof work carries particular risks where age, pitch and hidden deterioration are involved. We will assess visible conditions and recommend a suitable method, but a visual assessment cannot reveal every underlying weakness. We remain responsible for carrying out the agreed service with reasonable care and skill.
6. Results and expectations
Professional cleaning removes contamination; it does not reverse age, UV fading, weathering, erosion or the loss of factory coatings and pigments. Organic growth can conceal faded, porous or uneven material that becomes visible after cleaning.
Complete removal of deeply ingrained oil, rust, mineral deposits, lichen or other staining cannot always be achieved without risking damage. We will balance the desired result against the condition and safety of the surface and will explain significant limitations where they are known.
7. Guarantees and remedial work
Because exterior surfaces remain exposed to weather, moisture, shade, trees and airborne spores, we cannot guarantee how long a clean appearance will last or prevent the natural return of algae, moss, weeds or other organic growth.
Restoration services such as joint repairs, polymeric sanding, sealing and tarmac treatments are applied to existing installations. Their durability can be affected by structural movement, drainage, failed sub-bases and deterioration outside our control.
Any specific guarantee will apply only where it is expressly included in writing. This section does not affect the customer’s statutory rights where work has not been performed with reasonable care and skill.
8. Weather and postponement
We may postpone work where rain, wind, freezing temperatures or other conditions would make it unsafe or compromise the treatment. We will offer the earliest reasonably available alternative date, and a weather postponement will not cause the customer to lose their deposit.
9. Waste
For residential work, organic debris such as moss, weeds and surface material may be left safely on site for the customer’s disposal or garden use. Where agreed, we can bag and remove it for £8 per half-bag using standard 50-litre rubble sacks.
For commercial work, waste removal is included only where stated in the quotation. Skip hire and unusually large waste volumes will be agreed separately. Waste removed by us will be transported and disposed of lawfully under our waste-carrier responsibilities.
10. Photographs and video
We may take photographs or short videos to document surface condition and the results of our work. We may use suitable before-and-after images for our website, social media and other marketing unless the customer asks us not to in writing before the work. We will take reasonable steps not to publish people, vehicle registrations or other identifying information without appropriate permission.
11. Complaints and concerns
Please raise any concern as soon as possible so we can inspect it and try to resolve it. Contact us using the telephone number or email address shown on this page. Nothing in this process prevents a consumer from using their legal rights.
12. General
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without limiting any mandatory rights a consumer has to bring a claim in another applicable UK jurisdiction.
These terms should be read together with the accepted quotation and any written project specification.
